European heritage days

European heritage days

SEPTEMBER 14th AND 15th, 2019

Established since 1991 under the auspices of the Council of Europe, in 1994 the City of Geneva inaugurated, with the support of the canton, the first Swiss edition of the European Heritage Days. All of the French-speaking cantons joined in 2000, and today Geneva and Vaud are in Switzerland, the cantons where the event is most successful.

The 26th edition of the Swiss Heritage Days takes place in Geneva and in all the cantons on the weekend of September 14th and 15th, 2019 to make visitors discover many prestigious sites around the theme “Colors”.

Completely free tours are conducted by heritage professionals – archaeologists, historians, or art conservators – who directly present their work. Activities for young audiences and conferences complete the program.
